Hello my fellow needleworkers, I hope you all are doing well and I’m sure you definitely had a good day because I did.

So today is a little bit different. I want to talk about a time where I made multiple projects for an event I wanted to sell at and also how the event went from my point of view.

I can’t add progress photos because we made a whole lot and I’ll try to add the pictures of all the projects. I just pray it all fits in this.

My brand had paid for a vendor's space at an event here and we found out about the event like 2 weeks to the date or less than that so we had a lot of work to catch up on.

We made hats, simple tops, the famous Odumodublvck hat, ruffle hats and only one shrug.

We got there early (we as in my assistant and I) we started setting up. Funny enough I haven’t been to a fair before or a hangout so it was all new to me because I’m mostly indoors.

I think we made and scattered the table a lot of times before we got a sequence or pattern we could work with.

The event was scheduled to start by 4 but as it actually started by 6. I had to switch up personalities so I can easily interact with the people in the crowd and tell them where my stand is and what we have available. I made sure to walk around multiple times so I can easily reach a different set of people every time.

When the main event started it was fun. Videos were made and the brand owners talked about their brands so the audience would know where to get certain items.

My gym members turned up for me which was really nice because my assistant had to go home early so they sold my products for me while I was out talking to people to come and buy what we’re selling.

I wouldn’t lie, it was fun to be out there working and also interacting with people. Main reason I got that spot was so I can get brand visibility and it worked because I exchanged contact info with a lot of people and got good reviews and I could be seen not as Doreen but as my brand.

Now the part I was dreading came. I called a cab and it was almost midnight. The price was ridiculously high but I had no choice so I had to go. Grabbed my mannequin and other things I came with and started heading home. When I got into the cab my personality switched back and I was in a lot of pain. My feet, my head, my back basically everything was hurting. I was really happy I held out for that long and it was for a good cause. The event helped my brand generate visibility and also helped me up my communication game.

I’ll share pictures of what we sold there. And I hope they inspire your next projects.

Ps: the pictures used here belong to me and were taken with my mobile phone.

It’s always like that, during the fun aspect you never really feel the pain until everything is over.
I’m happy you had such a nice experience which gave your brand the visibility.
