Hello, friends especially needleworkers!
Yesterday was Sunday so I had some times to do my needlework hobby, this time I tried to make a little flower garden. I shared how I made it easily here, so follow me..
Project Time: around 2-3 hours
Skills needed:
• Back stitch
• Lazy Daisy Stitch
• Woven wheel Stitch
• Split stitch
• French Knot
Materials & Things needed:
• Natural color fabric
• Embroidery thread (6 strains for each stitch, in soft color of green, pink, blue and also yellow)
• Embroidery needle
• Embroidery hoop
How I made it:
1ST
First, I started to make the center stalk of the flower, I used the back stitch for this, I stitched the first stitch then make the other from the back. then I made the two leaves with the lazy daisy stitch. How to make the lazy daisy was quite easy, make the needle passed through the fabric twice, one to the upside and one to the downside, then pulled below the fabric, not tight then passed through the needle up one more time to hold the thread. Then last, I passed through the needle behind again. Then it’s finished.
To know how to make all the stitches here more clearly you could check my last week article, I shared how I made the sampler that day (actually I already finished all of the sampler but I can’t wait to share about today flower garden).
2ND
Then, I added another one leaf there also with the daisy stitch. Then, I made the woven wheel rose with the pink floss. First I made the five equal straight lines, all had one center dot, like below. Then passed through the needle to the right top of the center dot then I passed the thread up and below the five fingers I made first.
3RD
After finished I put below for the last wrap of the rose behind, then there I passed through the thread through the five fingers so I didn’t need any knots there.
4TH
Next, I made the split stitch for two other stalks on the left and right. Then made the two leaves with lazy daisy stitch, like below.
5TH
I then made two blue flowers on the left and right, I used lazy daisy for them. Also I added the French knots for the center of both blue flowers, passed through the yellow to the upside of the fabric then wrapped the thread to the needle then passed through to the back again. Then the French Knots were finished.
6TH
After that I did the same split stitch for two other stalks, then daisy stitches for the leaves on them.
7TH
Last, I made the same woven wheels for two small roses on the left and right. This time I used the yellow thread. Then it is finished!
Aren’t they cute?
By the way, I have some cute fabrics at home, think of hand sewing the cute little flower garden embroidery with one or two of them to make something useful.. And I will of course share to you when I made it later.. Any opinions of what things could I made with them?
Thanks for reading my article, hope you enjoy it and stay tune for more CRAFT things…
Happy Monday and happy needleworkmonday!
