Whoo Hoo!! It’s a Happy Monday for sure!

I finished our little monster friends over the weekend. I took the photoshoot and handed them over to my son to start their adventures!

It’s so motivating reading your comments and feedback. I think I told several of you that I would be showing you the results today. That made me work even harder to get the job done (that and my son keeping an eye on me and my crochet hook to see how far along I was lol) so thanks a bunch for that.

Before I get to the photoshoot I want to share a few things I did to make the monsters a bit more movable.

After crocheting the arms and legs I added a pipe cleaner to each of them.

For this second monster I decided to give him two extra arms. As stated in a previous post my son loves a monster with multiple arms.

My first idea was to just crochet around the pipe cleaners but since I didn’t have similar colors that matched the yarn I decided to make the arms. I made them skinny enough to be smaller than his first set.

Here’s a pic of me testing out the bending effect as I crochet…

I love how the thin wire allows for just enough movement of the limbs. I wanted him to be able to sit the monsters down if he wanted.

Sewing on the wig was fairly easy. I used my darning needle and whip stitched it on to the top of the monster.

I had to keep pushing down the stuffing because I kept picking it up as I went in and out of the stitches. It was getting everywhere. 😄

The yarn hair was also getting everywhere as I would accidentally weave it in with the needle occasionally. 🤭

I wanted to trim it so bad but my son requested that it stayed long and wild. He said

A monster’s hair looks crazy anyway. 😁

This second monster also got two teeth instead of one. His teeth aren’t as sharp as the first one’s tooth but I think they serve their purpose.

This monster ended up being everyone’s favorite. Not only because of the extras I added but the color is brighter and you can better see the details.

I still want to trim his hair. 😂

Here’s a shot of the back so you can see where I added the second set of arms…

Overall I’m glad he loves both his monsters. He told me they were brothers; the yellow is the oldest since he’s bigger. He also told me that the older brother may be stronger but his younger brother is faster than he is.

You know what else he said to me? He wants
to learn how to crochet so he can make a green monster. 🥹🫢🥰

I know right?! Just melted my heart when he said that.

He didn’t want to ask me to make another one because he saw how much time and work I put into these. I told him I made them because I wanted to and I don’t mind making things for my kiddos at all. He’s my sensitive sweet one and always expresses how he doesn’t like when he sees me overworked. ☺️

Anyway, I told him if he wants to learn I will gladly teach him. His siblings has their request lists lined up for me so he knows I wouldn’t be making him another anytime soon.

Check this list out of what my kids want crocheted:

My middle son - 3 headed dragon 😧
My youngest son - an entire family of people - he wants me to crochet up some humans 😅
My youngest daughter - unicorns, unicorns and some more unicorns - she picked like 5 of them for me to do 🫤😫
My eldest daughter - some type of figurine - she has yet to explain this to me more

I have my work cut out for me. That three headed dragon won’t be happening hahaha. He’s in the process of looking for another dragon that I would realistically make.

For now I’m going to let my hands rest a bit before I start on another one.

Here are some photos of the brothers hanging around catching some of this nice weather.

They just painted this fire hydrant. I thought the bright red would make for a cool photo…I think they did too. 😊

It was a perfect time for them to test out their strength and see how well those arms work. They both climbed the tree so fast. As you can see yellow monster is using all of his limbs to stay upright. Blue monster plays it real cool and only needs one arm to stay gripped. 😎

Thanks for following this monster journey with me. I truly am grateful for the time you spend reading and commenting on my posts. I hope you enjoyed ~ 😘

Thanks Leslie!! 😘

Oh my God 🤩🤩🤩, these kids are very funny with their words and the fact that they want to crochet by themselves is really fantastic.

The extra limb turns out to be amazing too.

Well I’m not sure if I will be completing all the requests lol. They will each get at least one crocheted toy and maybe a friend just like the blue monster got. 😄

Aww you're welcome @crosheille 😊❤️

I never thought the 2nd monster will look this awesome. The extra limb makes it very cool. I love your monsters honestly and my 2 kids were loving the yellow one also. My eldest told me that yours looks neat and cute. 🥰

They turned out to be so funny. I liked them too :-)

You know what you can do to captivate children.
And I once photographed these at one of our fairs.

They're gorgeous! 😁

Hahaha thank you! They are really fun and my son is having a good time with them.

Awww these are adorable! I love how the bunny’s are sitting in the box waiting for their new owners to pick them up. Thanks for sharing these cute photos.
😊

Okay, they are supposed to be monsters why then do they look so cute😍😍 I love them❤️
I can't wait to see the unicorns you make for your youngest daughter😍

Hahaha I know right?! I tried to make them look vicious and scary but darn I guess it failed lol.

Thanks so much. I am actually looking forward to making the unicorns. I can’t wait to make their colorful hair!! 😍

Wow! They are so beautiful @crosheille, I love the yellow one with extra limbs, it's looking so cute. Looking forward to see the unicorn for your youngest daughter.

Thanks @bimpcy! Glad you liked them.

I'm really looking forward to the unicorns too. ☺️

Wow, this is awesome monster at the end. Thanks for sharing the knowledge boss.

Thank you! Always a pleasure sharing with the community ~

Thank you the so desired monster are finally here, they’re both beautiful but what interest me most is the quality of the camera you used so beautiful, honestly very beautiful thanks for sharing @crosheille and thanks for keeping to your words am sure little junior will be over the moon 🤗🤗

Thanks a bunch for your comment. It was fitting to do the monster shoot outside where they could hang around and have fun. I'm grateful for the camera we have to capture such photos. 🙂

Of course! He is ecstatic about them and has been playing with them throughout the day ~ 👌🏽

The monsters are adorable. I love that you wired them for extra arm mobility. The vibrant colors, your son must be mesmerized by them.

It also melted my heart to read that your son wants to learn to make his green monster!

And you have many projects ahead of you, I kept thinking about the 3 headed dragon and the unicorns and more unicorns. hahahahahaha.

Thank you Tibaire!!

I knew I had to make them movable because every picture my son draws they always have moving arms, legs and tails lol. I'm so glad it worked out.

It will be pretty amazing teaching him how to crochet. He's aware it will take lots of practice and stitch learning. 😁

Oh gosh! I’ve always wanted my kids to love what I do and now they are putting me to work 😆. This will be quite the adventure hahaha!

What adorable little monsters my beauty! the combination of threads is spectacular! I love blue! your work is extremely beautiful! Hugs..

Thanks very much for the compliments of my needlework! I'm glad the colors turned out well together! 😊

😁😁😁 they are both very funny. and I agree with your son: they don't have to cut their hair. they have funny hair. 😂😂😂 wow 😮 what a list the kids have made for you!!! this is probably the plan for the next six months 😀

Haha I think they are funny monsters too. Lol yea the long hair is growing on me. As long as he likes them I'm happy. 😄

Oh dear yes, I'll be working on these requests for the next few years to come! 🤣

OMG these are the CUTEST.

Thank you!! So glad you like them!! 😆

My uncle gave me a corduroy purple monster when I was little .. it was my favourite. So I have a soft spot for them. It's name was .. wait for it .....
.....

....

.....

MONSTER!

untitled.gif

🤣🤣🤣

That's so funny!! Reminds me of my daughter and how she names her toys by what they are: doll, pony etc. lol!

Haha that's awesome. My son would do same, if he named it at all. I wonder if it's a sign of a rational mind.. I mean why name a thing that's clearly not alive? Mind you, I also had a toy bunny called Elizabeth and a toy Alsatian called Duke.

Haha exactly! Why go through all that trouble of a fancy for a toy? Plus it’s easier to remember just calling it by what it is.

I like the name Duke!

These monsters are so cuenta and funny, I like them so much.
You have a long and difficult wish list to crochet. Good luck with that.

Hahaha thank you Katty! These were a lot of fun. 😊

Lol yes I do. I’ll have to decide which items are getting cut from the list. 😂

Cool! And they don't look scary despite being monsters☺️

I missed very much to visit your blog @Crosheille because you always accompany your work with a warm and endearing story 🥰 The samples turned out great! Especially the yellow one, those little teeth in front, and the movable arms make it super different from what I've seen before. Your family sounds so fun and cheerful, your way of expressing yourself is so soft and healing, I love it! 😍

Hey @tesmoforia! Oh my gosh it's so good hearing from you! I need to make a stop at your blog too.

Wow thank you for such sweet words. I am so glad you liked the monsters. I really am pleased with the additions on the yellow one, he's definitely my favorite. 😊

Haha yea those kiddos keep me going and it motivates me knowing they love and appreciate my needlework. I spend so much time crocheting things for other people so I decided to stop and focus on my kids and what they have been asking me to make. I’m so glad I did. Now I have a lot of fun ahead of me. 😅

I’ll see you soon ~ 💓

It's great to see you finally get through with the monster project, it's just exceptional and pleasant to the eyes, for it beauty, colour combinations and arms.

You actually took the Photoshoot to a whole new level, I admire everyone one of it, but most especially those snapped by the tree.

Thanks @vickoly. I appreciate your attention to the details. I love bright vibrant colors so everything I make I try to pick accordingly what will be pleasant to the eyes. 😊

Oh thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the photoshoot. I mostly take my finished photos inside but it was too nice of a day not to do an outside shoot. Glad it worked! 😃

I do know how to crochet (it was required to learn back in gradeschool) but just the basics. Haven't tried creating anything as great as this. 😁

I started with just the basics too. I would have never thought to be making things like this when I first started. If you want to advance your skills there are plenty of videos/tutorials to get you going. We’re here to help as well.

My friend taught me the basics and I enjoyed it so much that I learned further to better my skills and knowledge of the stitches. I hope you pick up your hooks and start on something. When you do, please share it with us!! 😃😁😉

I love both of them and it is amazing how tiny details like teeth form or the hair color can change the entire character: for me the blue monster seems to be a bit more mischievous and the yellow monster a bit more sweet (perhaps the rounded additional tooth?).
And I admire/envy you that you can give the skill of crafting to your children. What could be better than them seeing the amazing things you create and then wanting to learn from you <3
And I think I do not admire you crocheting unicorns, multiple-headed dragons and an entire family under the watchful eyes of your children… speaking of pressure and you needing a clone :-DDD

I can see that about the characteristics. It's true the blue monster looks more mischievous lol. I am really glad I decided to add the teeth because my son likes them even more with them.

Aww thank you. I admit I blushed heavily when he told me he wanted to learn. I had to make sure I heard him right. 😁☺️

Oh gosh I won’t have any movement in my hands by the time I’m done lol. It is a good feeling knowing they actually want me to make them things. Thanks so much for this comment ~ 💓😘
