Un saludo mi querida comunidad de NeedleworkMonday, hoy me encuentro cargada de muchas emociones, de seguro ustedes ya saben porque, no es fácil para nadie tener esperanzas en una cosa y por culpa de otros ver caer todos tus sueños al piso. Pero no se preocupen, Venezuela es fuerte, por eso tiene nombre de mujer, porque es valiente y tiene la protección de Dios para salir adelante.

Greetings my dear NeedleworkMonday community, today I am loaded with many emotions, surely you already know why, it is not easy for anyone to hope for something and because of others see all your dreams fall to the ground. But do not worry, Venezuela is strong, that is why it has a woman's name, because it is brave and has God's protection to move forward.

Así que mientras nuestros líderes se esmeran en encontrar la solución política a esta situación yo me sumergí en mi taller de costura y realicé esta linda manualidad para participar en la más reciente iniciativa organizada por NeedleworkMonday.

So while our leaders are trying to find a political solution to this situation, I immersed myself in my sewing workshop and made this beautiful handicraft to participate in the most recent initiative organized by NeedleworkMonday.

Haciendo una rápida investigación me di cuenta que en la edición pasada no participé ¡no tengo ni idea porque! Pero eso me dio más ánimo de prepararme con tiempo para hacer algo sencillo pero hermoso, con el único propósito de agradar sus lindos ojos y animarles a realizar algo que embellezca sus espacios.

La cocina es el lugar donde la familia permanece más tiempo, allí es donde se encuentra el ¡Sabooorrr! Por eso es neustra costumbre mantener limpio y cuidado nuestros utensilios, decoramos para dar vida y color y compartimos todo lo que tenemos con nuestros seres queridos.

Doing a quick research I realized that in the last edition I did not participate, I have no idea why! But that gave me more encouragement to prepare myself with time to make something simple but beautiful, with the sole purpose of pleasing your beautiful eyes and encourage you to make something that beautifies your spaces.

The kitchen is the place where the family spends the most time, that's where the ¡Sabooorrr! That is why it is our custom to keep our utensils clean and well cared for, we decorate to give life and color and we share everything we have with our loved ones.

Hoy quiero dedicar mi publicación a la familia Venezolana, a mis amigos, sobrinos que están en el extranjero, que se fueron pero aún conservan la esperanza de regresar. Por eso hoy con más fuerza voy a llenar mi publicación de color con estos individuales de mesa para decorar la mesa del comedor. En esa mesa es donde quiero sentar a cada una de esas personas especiales que pronto volverán.

Today I want to dedicate my post to the Venezuelan family, to my friends, nephews and nieces who are abroad, who left but still hope to return. That is why today I am going to fill my publication with color with these individual table mats to decorate the dining table. That table is where I want to seat each of those special people who will soon return.

En torno a la mesa hemos construido recuerdos bonitos, así que desde ya quiero imaginar o más bien visualizar los momentos que están por venir sentados, comiendo algo rico hecho con mis propias manos. De seguro en esa mesa del comedor compartiremos historias, reiremos a montón y volveremos a sentirnos unidos, con el único propósito de ser felices.

Around the table we have built beautiful memories, so from now on I want to imagine or rather visualize the moments that are about to come sitting down, eating something delicious made with my own hands. Surely at that dining table we will share stories, laugh a lot and feel united again, with the sole purpose of being happy.

¡Pues bien! Ahora les quiero contar un poco de que trata mi manualidad para el concurso. Se trata de unos manteles o individuales a full color. Estos manteles los hice hace unos años en plena pandemia, recuerdo que mientras los elaboraba pensaba mucho en mi hermana Carmen, ella es una persona muy especial en mi vida, pero vive lejos, a unas 17 horas de mi ciudad. Yo hice estos individuales muy parecidos, la diferencia fue que aquellos les hice unos volantes moldeando con tenedor para que quedaran exactamente iguales. Well then! Now I want to tell you a little bit about my craft for the contest. It is a full color tablecloth or placemat. I made these placemats a few years ago during the pandemic, I remember that while I was making them I was thinking a lot about my sister Carmen, she is a very special person in my life, but she lives far away, about 17 hours from my city. I made these very similar ones, the difference was that I made some ruffles molding them with a fork so that they were exactly the same (if you like to see the technique you can look for videos on YouTube).

Esta vez tomé otra idea que me pareció muy rápida también, y se trata de ir haciendo el doblez de la tela con una aguja, primero hacia arriba y luego hacia abajo.

Esta tela de lunares la tenía guardada desde hace tiempo y siempre pensé que la podía realizar para una manualidad especial, así que doy gracias a la comunidad NeedleworkMonday por animarnos a participar en esta iniciativa.

This time I took another idea that I found very quick too, and it is about making the folds of the fabric with a needle, first upwards and then downwards.

I had this polka dot fabric saved for a long time and I always thought I could make it for a special craft, so I thank the NeedleworkMonday community for encouraging us to participate in this initiative.

Y como lo hice:

Lo primero que debo contarles es que probé con varias medidas y me definitivamente me quedo con el circulo de 35 centímetros. Este círculo no es la medida final, porque luego debemos cortar dos tiras de 12 x 1,50 centímetros que al juntarlo con el círculo harán que la medida final aumente.

Al cortar las tiras de 12 x 1,50 cm de largo las unimos para que las tiras queden de 3.00 metros. Planchamos a la mitad para que reduzcan de 12 cm a 6 cm.

And how I did it:

The first thing I should tell you is that I tried several measures and I definitely stayed with the 35 centimeters circle. This circle is not the final size, because then we must cut two strips of 12 x 1.50 centimeters that together with the circle will increase the final size.

When we cut the 12 x 1.50 cm long strips we join them so that the strips are 3.00 meters long. We iron them in half so that they reduce from 12 cm to 6 cm.

Ahora si nos vamos a la máquina de coser y vamos pegando la tira al círculo, ya sea con la ayuda de la aguja o un tenedor o haciendo el sistema de arruche lo importante es pegarlo con costura recta por todo el contorno. Colocamos la tela de forro enfrentando derecho con derecho, cosemos con costura recta dejando una abertura de 20 centímetros para luego voltear; pasamos una costura en zigzag.

Now if we go to the sewing machine and we glue the strip to the circle, either with the help of the needle or a fork or making the ruche system, the important thing is to glue it with a straight seam all around the contour. Place the lining fabric right sides together, sew with a straight seam leaving an opening of 20 centimeters and then flip it over; sew a zigzag seam.

Volteamos cerramos la abertura con puntada escondida, planchamos y pasamos una costura por el lado derecho bien pegado a la orilla para hacer una costura de refuerzo que a su vez es decorativa.

Como ven es algo sumamente sencilla, hay bellezas de combinaciones, la verdad es que estos son de prueba porque más adelante me gustaría conseguir los que serán para mi casa. Estos que hice de seguro se irán para alguna casa de alguien especial que los valoren y sepa usar.

We turn over, close the opening with a hidden stitch, iron and sew a seam on the right side well attached to the edge to make a reinforcement seam which in turn is decorative.

As you can see it is something extremely simple, there are beautiful combinations, the truth is that these are a test because later I would like to get the ones that will be for my house. These that I made will surely go to a special someone's house who values them and knows how to use them.
