¡Y yo vengo más contenta que muchacho con juguete nuevo! Si amigos, hoy es lunes y el cuerpo lo sabe por eso vengo a contarles de esta buena noticia y es que después de 38 años de haber visto por primera vez la técnica del macramé ¡por finnn! Puse manos a la obra e hice mi primer adorno tejido en la técnica de Macramé.
And I am happier than a boy with a new toy! Yes friends, today is Monday and the body knows it so I come to tell you this good news and that is that after 38 years of having seen for the first time the macramé technique, finally! I got down to work and made my first ornament woven in the Macramé technique.
Tenía 12 años cuando vi por primera vez a mi prima Marlene haciendo una cosa hermosa, era un colgante en el que colocaron luego un vidrio y sobre esa mesa colgante colocaban cosas lindas para decorar la sala. Ese recuerdo ha ido conmigo toda la vida, nunca me olvido del color blanco que resaltaba con esas hebras de hilo tejidas entre sí para formar distintas puntadas hermosas.
Otro recuerdo de ese primer macramé que vi en la vida es cuando en una navidad colocaron sobre esa mesa colgante un nacimiento hermoso de piezas pequeñas y las tiras largas del amarre estaban decoradas con lazos hermosas de navidad.
I was 12 years old when I saw for the first time my cousin Marlene making a beautiful thing, it was a pendant on which they placed a glass and on that hanging table they placed beautiful things to decorate the living room. That memory has stayed with me all my life, I never forget the white color that stood out with those strands of thread woven together to form different beautiful stitches.
Another memory of that first macramé I saw in life is when one Christmas they placed on that hanging table a beautiful nativity of small pieces and the long strands of the tie were decorated with beautiful Christmas bows.
Toda mi vida le agradeceré a Marlene porque con ella di mis primeros pasos en las manualidades, aprendí costura, tejido en dos agujas y di mis primeras puntadas en macramé.
A mi realmente me pareció sumamente facil y desde entonces cada vez que veo algo en macramé recuerdo ese momento de mi vida y me alegra el espíritu.
Con esta técnica se pueden hacer infinidad de cosas y no necesitas una aguja para tejer, lo unico que necesitas son dos buenas manos y muchas ganas de tejer.
All my life I will thank Marlene because with her I took my first steps in handicrafts, I learned sewing, two-needle weaving and my first stitches in macramé.
I really found it very easy and since then every time I see something in macramé I remember that moment in my life and it cheers my spirit.
With this technique you can do a lot of things and you don't need a needle to weave, the only thing you need are two good hands and a lot of desire to weave.
Hace unos dias mientras buscaba algo que hacer para el concurso de mascotas volví a encontrarme con esta técnica y vi que con ella se hacen unas camas bellísimas para gatos y de inmediato conecte con esa manualidad y la hice, pero ¿adivinen qué? Le coloqué una tabla y una colcha muy bonita, suave, asi bien acolchadita en color blanco, pero no le gustó.
Por más que monté a Mara en esa cama no le gustaba y se bajaba, asi que decidí replantear la idea y lo deje para colocar un helecho colgante.
A few days ago while I was looking for something to do for the pet contest I came across this technique again and I saw that it makes beautiful beds for cats and I immediately connected with this craft and I did it, but guess what? I put a board and a very nice, soft, white quilt on it, but she didn't like it.
As much as I put Mara on that bed, she didn't like it and got off, so I decided to rethink the idea and left it for a hanging fern.
Por suerte para mi hice esa manualidad con tiempo y me dio chance de hacer una nueva manualidad para el concurso, sino me hubiese vuelto loca, desesperada por no llegar a tiempo al concurso.
¡Pues bien! como ven, fue algo sencillo, pero pude repasar varias puntadas o nudos. El que más me gusto fue el nudo plano y el nudo espiral el cual se va entorchando y formando un giro muy bonito.
Con la técnica del macramé podemos hacer un montón de cosas, bolsos, caminos de mesa, pulseras, collares, de todo.
Luckily for me I made that craft in time and it gave me a chance to make a new craft for the contest, otherwise I would have gone crazy, desperate for not being on time for the contest.
Well, as you can see, it was simple, but I was able to go over several stitches or knots. The one I liked the most was the flat knot and the spiral knot which is twisted and forms a very nice twist.
With the macramé technique we can make a lot of things, bags, table runners, bracelets, necklaces, everything.
Ahora que estoy entusiasmada quiero hacer aquella mesa colgante para mi casa y me gustaria muchisimo poder mostrársela a Marlene algún día y decirle “Gracias por todo lo que me enseñaste”. Con eso me gustaria hacerle un sentido homenaje para hacerle sentir que cada palabra cada enseñanza que me dio con tanto amor, caló en mi vida y dio sus frutos.
Now that I am excited I want to make that hanging table for my house and I would love to show it to Marlene someday and tell her “Thank you for everything you taught me”. With that I would like to make a tribute to her to make her feel that every word, every teaching that she gave me with so much love, permeated my life and bore fruit.
She is Marlene the woman who with her love and patience taught me many things in life. To her I owe this love I feel for handicrafts. To her, all my gratitude.
Espero que todas podamos algún día hacer una manualidad con esta técnica, tal vez la comunidad de needleworkmonday nos pueda dar un empujoncito con algún tipo de concurso. Y si esa idea se llega a materializar cuenten conmigo para dar uno de los premios.
