¡Llegaron las lluvias! Y hay que aprovechar el tiempo para crear.

Un saludo mis queridos amigos de Needleworkmonday, esta semana la he pasado muy ocupada, mi madre ha estado un poco enferma y eso no me deja concentrar en nada, para mí la salud de mi mamà es prioridad ante todo y solo le pido a Dios para que pronto esté restablecida su salud del todo.

Mientras los dias siguen pasando y Octubre se acerca la mitad del mes las lluvias han llegado con bastante intensidad; lo unico que deseo es que la calor se aplaque un poco y ya llegue el frio decembrino para quedarse con nosotros hasta enero.

En tiempos de lluvia es inevitable quedarnos en casa, pero ese no debe ser motivo de aburrimiento, por el contrario, a mí me encanta porque es la oportunidad precisa para aprovechar el tiempo y hacer las cosas que tengo pendientes desde hace tiempo.

As the days continue to pass and October approaches the middle of the month, the rains have arrived with great intensity; the only thing I wish is that the heat subsides a little and the cold of December arrives to stay with us until January.

In times of rain it is inevitable to stay at home, but that should not be a reason for boredom, on the contrary, I love it because it is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the time and do the things I have been doing for a long time.

Hoy les vengo a contar de uno de tantos proyectos que tenía en mente y por fin logre materializar. Se trata de una cesta que hace tiempo iba rumbo a la basura, era de mi vecina que estaba botando un poco de cosas y cuando vi esa cesta me encantó. Yo sabía que a podía reparar y le podía dar uso nuevamente si la reparaba con unas cuantas telas.

Today I am going to tell you about one of the many projects I had in mind and I finally managed to materialize. It is about a basket that was going to the trash some time ago, it belonged to my neighbor who was throwing away some things and when I saw that basket I loved it. I knew that I could repair it and I could use it again if I repaired it with a few fabrics.

Asi que como les dije antes, aproveche mi día de lluvia en casa y puse manos a la obra.

Los materiales que utilice fueron tan solo retazos de tela que tengo guardados desde hace tiempo, entre esas telas habia conseguí una tela de clínica, de esas que le colocan a las camillas, tambien utilicé una tela de pepas naranja que combina perfectamente y un trozo de tela verde que me encanta porque combina con todo. Además que me recuerda a la persona tan especial que me la regaló.

So as I said before, I took advantage of my rainy day at home and got to work.

The materials I used were just scraps of fabric that I have saved for a long time, among those fabrics I got a clinic fabric, one of those that they put on the stretchers, I also used an orange pepas fabric that matches perfectly and a piece of green fabric that I love because it goes with everything. Plus it reminds me of the very special person who gave it to me.

Como lo hice:

La verdad es que fue muy fàcil, no tarde ni dos horas, tampoco hice mucha costura ya que la mayor parte la hice con silicón caliente.

La cesta estaba un poco rota en la parte superior pero lo demás estaba en buen estado, es por eso que decidí conservar la parte baja de la cesta, para que le diera ese toque especial.

How I did it:

The truth is that it was very easy, it didn't even take two hours, I didn't do much sewing either since I did most of it with hot silicone.

The basket was a little broken at the top but the rest was in good condition, that's why I decided to keep the lower part of the basket, to give it that special touch.

Lo primero que hice fue reforzar esa parte superior con tela clínica y silicón por todo el contorno.

Luego tome la tela verde y medí al ojo por ciento rodeando toda la cesta, corte y uní con la tela de pepas naranja. Uní por los costados y le hice un borde para que no deshilache la tela con el tiempo.

The first thing I did was to reinforce the upper part of the basket with clinical fabric and silicone all around.

Then I took the green fabric and measured the eye percent around the entire basket, cut and joined it with the orange seed fabric. I joined the sides and made a border so that the fabric would not fray over time.

Metí la tela entre la cesta doble el borde naranja hacia afuera y por ultimo le coloque una franja de tela verde cocina por el borde y laterales y pegado a la cesta con silicón.

Aquí no hay mucha decoración, solo hay que cuidar los detalles para que la tela quede bien reforzada y pegada al material de la cesta. Tambien corte un circulo en tela y cartón, forré, pegué y coloqué al fondo de la cesta pegado tambien con abundante silicón.

I tucked the fabric between the basket and folded the orange border outward and finally I placed a strip of green kitchen fabric around the edge and sides and glued it to the basket with silicone.

There is not much decoration here, just take care of the details so that the fabric is well reinforced and glued to the basket material. I also cut a circle in fabric and cardboard, lined, glued and placed at the bottom of the basket also glued with plenty of silicone.

Ahora tengo una cesta para echar mi ropa sucia, tal vez más adelante le haga una bolsa de tela para sacar rapido y llevar a la lavadora. Otra opciòn podría ser conseguir algo para hacerle una tapa bien bonita.

Pero en fin, ya por ahora me siento bien porque he rescatado esta linda cesta que iba rumbo a la basura.

Now I have a basket to put my dirty clothes in, maybe later I will make a cloth bag to take them out quickly and put them in the washing machine. Another option could be to get something to make a nice lid for it.

But anyway, for now I feel good because I have rescued this nice basket that was going to the trash.
