Hello everyone
Saturday is fast approaching and it's a day set aside for the wedding of my neighbour's son's , all preparations have been put in place with family and friends coming from close and far distance to attend the wedding.
Most wedding is being scheduled for towards the end of the year and this is not an exception as the groom and bride will be celebrating Christmas as husband and wife.
Mrs Gabriel is my good neighbor but I hardly see her, her house is fenced with a big gate, she hardly comes out and anytime she does, she's mostly in her car, I guess if she ever take a walk, anyways, back to today's post, Mrs Gabriel sent for me that she would like me to make a simple but beautiful outfit for her for her son's wedding, when she brought out the fabric, it was a heavy lace fabric, well seeing the lace fabric, I asked if she has any style she would want to make and she suggested a skirt and blouse, I had to give her my professional advice that such fabric will not be suitable for such style, then I suggested an A-shape gown with ruffles sleeve, she agreed that hence I promised it will look nice and beautiful.
With the 5yards of lace fabric, I folded it in two vertically to cut out the back part, I measured out the neckline of 4" width by 1.5 depth, the shoulder of 7", the armhole circumference was measured as well, then the bust, waist, hip and full length measurement both vertical and horizontal measurement.
The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the front part of the gown

I cut out a shining lining same shape as the dress to serve as an underdress for the gown. It was sewn together on the front and back separately before being sewn together to make a sleeveless gown.
On the hem of the dress, I trimmed out the lace edges and sew it to the hem of the dress.
To make my stylish sleeve, I cut out a basic sleeve of 12" the marked 2" intervals from the hem upward on two rows on which I sew the trimmings from the lace on before sewing the sleeve circumference.
Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference of the gown to make a complete outfit.
Seeing that I still have excess trimmings from the lace, I used it to make a design in front of the gown across the chest line of about 3 steps.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome of the dress I made for Mrs Gabriel for her son's wedding, she was so happy with the dress when it was delivered to her. This will look so nice with a matching color head gear and shoes.
