Most of my church outfit are no longer my size, some are faded, some are tight and others are no longer befitting for me to wear to church anymore, so I decided to change my wardrobe, in other to achieve this, I made a promise to myself to make at least two to three outfit for myself in a month in all, I calculated about six outfit for myself before the end of the year. To start with, I made my first outfit out of the six I proposed for myself, this is a 360° flare gown with half cut using slash and spread method to achieve this style.

Sometimes ago, when I traveled home, I bought a fabric for my sister and made a stylish outfit of a 360° flare with pleated center front and a cape at the neckline for her with the fabric, I also bought a matching color fabric for her husband to make his own outfit so as to be a couple outfit.

Unfortunately, when I got home and delivered the outfit to her and brought out her husband's fabric which I bought for him, she rejected the outfit I made for her with the reason that her husband's fabric is of high quality than the one I bought for her, though she likes the outfit, but her complain is with the quality of fabric I got for her, she asked me to go with it and buy something of high quality for her, so I was gifted the outfit and did what she asked me to do, I traveled back to my place with the outfit and bought another fabric and sent to her.

Though, the fabric has been with me for a while and just recently, I decided to work on it, this time, to transform it to my size and taste.

To make this outfit, first, I had to rip the seam and separate the upper bodice from the lower bodice in other for me to make it to my size, with the left over fabric, I used it to make another upper bodice of my size.

First, I drafted the upper bodice on a brown paper following the steps I watched on YouTube on how to use a slash and spread method to achieve a upper bodice, I followed the steps by manipulating the dart leg and bust dart to achieve this.

The flare was set aside while I placed the drafted pattern on the fabric to cut out same shape.

I cut out facing for the front and back and they were neatly sewn together.

The upper bodice was sewn to the lower part of the dress which was the 360° flare, because it wasn't my size initially, I had to pleat the flare on the upper bodice to my size and it was perfect, at the back, I added the zipper and that was it, on the sleeves, I cut out a ¾ sleeve and sew it to the armhole circumference.

This is the final outcome of the dress, I hope you like the beautiful outcome on me.
