Hello, happy Monday friends who love threads and needles, I wish you are well together with your loved ones; This week has been very cool in my city thanks to the days that we have had rain, which allows us to have a cool temperature and take advantage of the opportunity to carry out and finish new sewing projects; Last week I shared with you how to make a two-color sports jumpsuit, this time I am happy to show you the hooded sweater that matches the jumpsuit, I really enjoyed making this sweater and I loved the result.

The initial idea of the sweater was to contrast the blue and black colors in the front sleeve and hood, when I finished gluing the seam allowance I realized that I had sewn the hood upside down, the blue and black colors should be on the outside and the blue inside in the lining, but it was the opposite, I could not unpick it because I had to send it to my sister, anyway the result was very good and has a different style the two-color lining he, he

The materials used were:

Puma fabric in colors black blue.
Scissors
Chalk
Molds
Sewing machine
Matching threads.

The first step is to mark and cut the patterns, then sew the front pieces with a straight stitch, then face the back and front pieces right to right and join at the shoulders with a straight stitch.

Los materiales usados fueron:

Tela puma en colores negro azul.
Tijera
Tiza
Moldes
Máquina de coser
Hilos a tono.

To make the hood, I sewed the two pieces; main and lining on the curved side, then turned it inside out so that the seams match and sewed a hem on the front leaving a 2 cm flap.

The pocket is sewn facing right side to right side, it is joined along the contour leaving the bottom seamless to turn over so that the seams are even, then I repeated and glued on the centered front with a straight stitch and double stitching for a better finish.

Once the pocket and hood were sewn, I zig zag stitched the sash and cuffs, then with pins I pinned the sleeves, joined with straight stitch and zig zag stitched to secure the seam, after gluing the sleeves I closed the sides, this way I only had to glue the hood, cuffs and sash.

The hood is glued facing right to right, trying as much as possible that the center of the hood coincides with the union of the blue and black fabrics in the front, to do it more comfortably I use the pins and I fix the piece by the contour, one with straight stitch and glue the seam allowance.

Finally, the sash and cuffs are sewn, fastened with pins to sew more easily, and one with a straight stitch, in this way the two-color hooded sweater is finished.

An advance in this project was that I managed to place the center of the hood right where the fabrics meet, this made me very happy, although because I was concentrating on this point the hood did not turn out as I had planned but I liked the finish of the sweater and With the cover seam it has a better style.

I don't know if sewing a hoodie will be difficult, am always afraid of the upper part, thinking it will be difficult.

Well done dear, this doesn't even show your mistakes at all.

Well done dear @belkyscabrera 😍😘💕💖

Hi @monica-ene, it's not difficult to sew the hood, it only requires precision when locating the center of the hood and neck in such a way that they coincide, the rest is sewing and to achieve a better finish, cover the seams.

Have a nice day!

Alright.
Let me save the link to yours,it can be a good reference.

Try it estimated, the sewing process is similar to a flannel, only the hood varies; since it does not have a collar, the pocket is easy to glue too.

I love the way you break down each steps follow to make this project a successful one. To be sincere to you, this sweater is very beautiful especially the color combinations it's cool. Thanks for sharing this with us I love it

Hello @mosesessien, thanks for stopping by and commenting, it is much appreciated, the colors combine perfectly, the last few days I have used blue many times for my sewing projects, it is a really beautiful color.

Greetings and blessings!

Making A hood is one thing that never crossed my mind to make but seeing what you've made has given me a thought of trying this out one of these days and I hope it comes out really nice as yours.

You've done a great job here and it's really beautiful with the color combinations.

Hi @bimpcy, making a hooded sweater is easy, when I made the first sweater for my son I thought it was a complicated project and it turned out to be easy to sew, what requires more attention is matching the center of the hood to the center of the front neck, the rest is very similar or sew a flannel.

Thank you for your nice comment, have a happy day!

Wow, this is amazing. The colour combo is so nice too.

You are making it easy but I am sure it is not. It is worth the time tho

Hi @lizizoo, it's really not difficult to make this sweater guy, it just takes more time because of the amount of pieces you have to sew, but it doesn't have great difficulties.

Happy and blessed Tuesday!

I always shy off when it comes to the hood part..😅 well done, to do it in two different colours!
oh and that's some cute pins you have there🌟😊

Greetings @kesityu.fashion, thank you for your visit and beautiful comment, I am happy for the result of the sweater, the combination of blue with black is spectacular and the fabric is easy to sew.

Ah those pins are very good to fix the fabrics, the needle is strong, there are several motifs: heart, leaf, star, flowers and ovals.

Have a nice day!
