Come, come, come!! (Blows whistle)
This is what I want to sew versus what I sewed series, come and be the judge!

On the 9th of January, I realized I had a gathering, let me just say, after 3years I haven't been able to attend this particular religious gathering because of covid, we were attending virtually so this was the first time after three years attend.
Baby Girl has got to slay you know, I started to think about what to wear, I wanted it simple and unique, and I knew the corset thingy will be in vogue, I just wanted to look beautifully different hahaha.
I went straight to my Pinterest app to search for style, I already had it in mind that whatever I will be rocking must be in black, excuse me! Black is my favorite color so if not why not? Hehe😀.
I searched and searched and then I found something that caught my eye, here it is.
Wait, did it catch your eye too? Hehe, okay I sat down to think of the fabrics that best suited this, and I came up with the Crepe fabrics.
So I got my fabrics and all that's needed to make this outfit a reality.
I got a black crepe fabric, (3yards), a matching lining, zipper, and thread.
On my fabrics, you'll find my pin cushion, French curve, scissors, tape rule, and the tailor's chalk.
So I proceeded to cut this style.
I folded the upper bodice in form of cutting a boubou top using my half-length measurement.
Then I measured 3 and a half inches from my shoulder like I wanted to cut a neckline, however, this style didn't need a neckline cut, so I started to pleat from that marked area.
Using my pin to secure the pleat.
I did the same for the back and then proceeded to cut the lower bodice, this is very simple, I cut in form of a regular skirt panel, using hip measurement and waist measurement for this including two inches allowance.
On this collage, you'll find the skirt bodice and the upper bodice, and the pleat I've used a pin to secure. The name Amie couture on the collage is my signature, that's my brand's name.
Okay let's proceed, then I went ahead to cut the sleeve.
It's starting to make sense to me, then I proceeded to my beloved sewing machine.
Here I started to use my machine to make a stitch on the pleat I secured with my pin, and then I fixed my zipper at the back and proceeded to join the lower bodice to the upper bodice after I inserted the dart.
After joining the upper bodice to the lower bodice, I inserted my body measurement to give it a shape, then I stopped my stitch at the two sides, giving it a slit at the two sides, just after my knee length measurement. I gave it a good press because I gotta slay!! The whole process took me about three hours, I am always focused.
