Hello Prestigious Members. It's been a while here, I'm sorry I was down with Cold and catarrh as it's been raining consecutively in my hood.
I feel a bit better and so, I decided to show up here like I always do.
Today's post will show you another way of ironing your outfit when there's no power supply or if you do not have a charcoal iron, so you need to read to the end and stay tuned.☺
The fabrics I worked with were floral Silk and cashmere for the plain fabric.
On the collage, you'll find the raw fabrics which were ready to be cut and sewn.
Followed by the sleeves which I cut in the form of an A-line and cut about 4 inches of the cashmere fabric was used as a ribbon to pipe the sleeve.
In the fourth collage, I cut a Vee-neckline and an A-line kaftan-shaped dress.
Then I also cut the back piece.
Here was when I turned the neckline with another little piece, notched and top-stitched.
I proceeded to join the sleeves, before joining the sleeves to the bodice, I joined the cashmere fabrics to the tip of the sleeve to make it look beautiful and did the same for the front bodice.
To give this outfit a good press, when I was done sewing, the light went out and my charcoal iron was bad, so I thought of another method.
I looked for a stainless cup with a handle, I lit the charcoal in it and then cleaned the bottom of the cup, and started to iron with the cup.
My cousin taught me this method😀😀, I went to visit her one day and saw her ironing her clothes with this method, so I decided to try it.
Surprisingly, it came out nice.
I had to take this shot twice, so you can see what's inside the cup, it's just charcoal, nothing more.
At the end of the day, this was the outcome, it came out pretty nice, who would have thought the method I used to give this outfit a smooth surface?😀😀😀
What do you think about this method of ironing, would you like to try it?
How about the outfit, I hope it came out. well.?
And as for my cold, I had to take a locally brewed tea. Scent leaves, ginger, garlic, and lemon grass boiled together, and I feel a lot better now.
