Hello everyone, I am here to share with you this charging cable cover l made. For a while now, my charging cables always end up getting scratched leaving them exposed and worst of all putting me at risk. After l got this new charging cable l knew l had to solve that problem hence, making this charging cable cover. As an environmentalist and a lover of nature, l just knew l was going to do something nature-themed. It didn’t even take me long to come up with this theme.
Honestly, it was a little difficult to put everything together because l made this while l was traveling. I’m glad it came out cute. It took me a while to wrap the cord but all in all, l spent over 2 hours making this.
The materials I used;
• 1.60mm crochet hook
• leftover yarns
Procedure
I started by making the cable wrap. I crocheted around the cable till all the length of the cable was wrapped with yarns, setting the foundation of the the nature theme.
After I finished the wrapping, I moved on to the leaves. For the leaves, I made 9 chains and then decreased, increased and then increased. I made a single crochet in the second chain, half double crochet in the third chain, double crochet in the fourth chain, 2 double crochet in the fifth chain and then double crochet in the sixth chain, half double crochet in the seventh and then lastly single crochet in the eighth chain and slip stitch in the ninth chain. I moved to the other side and made the same thing for that side as well.
I wanted to decorate the cable cover with daisies so I moved to the daisies. That was the easiest part. I started with a magic ring and then made 6 single crochets in the magic ring. I then made 5 sets of 5 double crochet in 5 stitches, grounding them with a slip stitch.
I then attached the daisies to the wrapped cable and I was done.
The result
It looked aesthetically pleasing after I was done. I couldn’t even wait to reach my destination to charge my phone. I was so satisfied with the results and most importantly, I was glad my charging cable has a cover now. It was fun doing this and I hope you like it. Thank you for your time.
