Learning Bamboo cutting to defend the bananas
Sometimes there are things we cannot simply do - because our body weight does not permit us to be able to do them. We got few curry banana trees, that is in our backwards and interestingly, they have grown so high in such a place that, we had to ask for some assistance from the thin guy staying on rent at our house.
You see the broken glass pieces fixed on the wall ? They are meant for thieves - in rural areas, this kind of crime is common. People always sneak into and take away what they can easily.
It was a huge one - so we had to cut them in parts before cutting the whole. This had some wall support, but we have another bigger one, which needed support.
There were couple of small bamboos, which I fixed. But Mom is perfectionist - she was not happy about the support and she made me cut some new bamboos. For the first time in life, I had to learn which bamboo is suitable to cut. I went for the thick ones but she guided me to cut the matured ones. These are some of the leanings I doubt, our next generation will know.
Cutting the bamboo was not difficult - getting it out was tough. I had to call for assistance - our maid.
And then cleaning them took quite a bit time.
And then had to straighten it.
After all this hard work, I planned to fix these in the afternoon. Little did I know that, they would not be needed - the cyclone weakened diverting somewhere else, and the prediction was it will only rain and no wind. So we just left it there. It rained the entire night yesterday and till afternoon today - but everything is safe. It's the wind which damages more - after severe rain, the soil being wet, wind causes the destruction easily. Thank to the nature, it saved us this time. But I keep wondering how frequent we will see such situations.
