Welcome to my blog, hope all of you are fine! Today I will be sharing about fixing my moroccan lamp. I had been out of touch the last weeks because of the stressy days we have had repairing our house here in Andalusia. We´ve been away for 22 months because of the pandemic and when we came, there were many works to do , some repairs, maintenance of the interior as well as the exterior. The painter finished painting the facade of the house, we built new drainage , painted the interior of the 2 bedrooms. Oh my, the repairs were endless since we came back last October. Thank God the succulent garden had been ok during our absence. The plants were not watered, only the rain took care of its growth.
Solving the problem...
I had trouble with changing the bulb of this lamp. I stood on the bed to try changing the bulb. The problem was, the old one that got busted was impossible to take out of the lamp base as the bulb got stuck. I am aware that if I keep on turning the bulb it might break andglass splitters might get on my face. Standing on bed, I kept on outbalancing myself because the mattress is soft. What to do?

And so, I moved the bed and got me a ladder. I de-installed the lamp, took out the wire connections. I forgot to turn the fuse down. Aas a kid of 9 years old, I experimented holding the plug of an electric fan, half inserted on the socket, I touched the wire and got electrocuted. It was a test but abrupt and nothing happened but gained experience that one should never do what I did. Of course, I didn´t tell anyone about that episode. Since I was a teenager, I used to change bulb in my parent´s house so I knew what I was doing the other day.
Warning: If you ladies are to do this, be sure to turn off the fuse in order not to be electrocuted.
The bulb really stuck to the lampbase so I had to apply force. My two hands hardly got inside of the lamp because the opening below is small but I managed to enter both hands and so one hand holding the lamp base and the other hand holding the bulb, I turned the bulb counter-clockwise until finally the bulb moved and I was able to take it out and insert a new one.
When the buld was replaced, I have adjusted the cable length and put the stopper back in the metal crown so that the cable is fixed and won´t move.
The lamp was hooked up on the open eye screw in the ceiling ( already there) so that I could make the elecrical connection. So with the wire connector , I connected the blue with the blue wire and the browm with the brown wire.
With wires connected, I placed the cable cap back in the ceiling and that was it. So I switched on and the bulb lighted.. Yuhuu!
