In Indonesia, every May 2 is celebrated as National Education Day. This is to appreciate the services of an educational hero, namely Mr. Ki Hajar Dewantoro, who was born on May 2. I will share exciting moments at our school, in commemoration of National Education Day. The first exciting moment was the flag ceremony. So every May 2, at our school we always hold a ceremony to commemorate National Education Day. This year, the officers raising the flag came from the Scout community, therefore the officers wore Scout uniforms during the ceremony.

The most exciting thing is that each ceremony participant is required to wear their respective traditional clothes/regional clothes. This is done so that the younger generation of Indonesia remains familiar with traditional clothing from their respective regions and they can preserve their regional cultural traditions. I will show you some traditional traditional clothes in Sumatra province. The first is traditional Malay clothing.

The next traditional clothing comes from West Sumatra, Minangkabau. This traditional clothing from the Minangkabau region has the characteristic form of a rumah gadang (Minangkabau traditional house) decoration worn on the head, which is usually called Bundo Kanduang.

Even though we live in the province of Sumatra, precisely in the North Sumatra region (inhabited by the Batak and Malay tribe), but there are also many Javanese people who live in Sumatra, several Javanese traditional clothes are widely used during the National Education Day commemoration ceremony today.

Apart from that, there are also those who wear traditional Sundanese clothing.

Meanwhile, the ceremony supervisor who came from the Toba Batak area also wore traditional regional clothing, namely Ulos, typical of Toba Batak.

The next exciting moment was a group photo, After the ceremony is finished, another exciting moment is taking photos. even though today is National Education Day, the regulations at our school do not allow students to bring cellphones. Therefore, teachers who carry cellphones can take photos with their students. I will choose some nice traditional clothes, as memories.

After finishing the ceremony, the final event was singing with students and teachers. Students who have a hobby of singing can contribute their melodious voices, so that everyone can be entertained. One of our administrative employees named Mrs. Ayu loves singing, she invited one of the female students to sing along.
