Oh my gosh! These blondies are ridiculously yummy and sickly sweet.
The weather outside was rainy and miserable so I tried this recipe this afternoon to keep busy and goodness, it’s good!
I have tried other Blondie recipes in the past but never a Brown Butter Blondie.
So here’s how to make this gooey, sticky goodness.
Brown Butter Blondie Recipe
The Blondie:
1 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
½ cup Unsalted Melted Butter
½ cup Maple Syrup
1 Tbsp Vanilla Essence
2 Large Eggs
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
½ tspn Salt
1/4 tspn Baking Soda
The Sauce:
½ cup Cream
3 Tbsp Butter
½ cup Brown Sugar
Method
The Blondies:
Prepare the baking tray by placing a sheet of wax paper on the baking tray with enough to go up the sides.
Preheat the oven to 180•C (350F)
Brown the butter on medium heat in a small sauce pan on the stove and then allow it to cool.
Add the brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla Essence, brown butter and 2 eggs.
Mix on medium speed.
Add the flour, salt and baking soda and mix on low speed.
You will now have a thick paste.
Scoop the mixture into the baking tray and spread it out with a spatula.
Place the tray in the middle of the oven for 25-30 minutes. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
The Sauce: (optional)
Add the cream, butter and sugar to the same saucepan from the browned butter.
Heat the mixture and boil on medium-low heat, stirring continuously for about 10 minutes until it forms a thick syrup.
Pour the hot syrup over the Blondies after they come out of the oven. The syrup will soak in to the Blondies and make them even more sticky.
Allow them to cook and then cut into squares.
These Blondies are so sweet that they would be just as good and sticky without the sauce, so feel free to leave it out if you don't like too much sugar.
I loved this syrupy Brown Butter Blondie with my cup of tea. And it went down a treat with my family.
