This beef bone broth is the most flavorful broth I have ever had. Also, it is my first time making homemade. I sent my husband on a quest to find some beef bones, and he finally found some for me. He got a bit carried away and brought me 15 lbs of bones.

I had watched a few videos on YouTube so of course, I had to make my own. I first roasted the bones with a few onions in the oven while I chopped up some fresh vegetables to add flavor.

I had to use two crackpots for enough room for all those bones.

I set up my small craft table in the kitchen and let the bones simmer for 24 hours. The entire house was filled with a delicious aroma.

After the first day, I removed the bones, placed them onto a tray, and strained all the vegetables from the broth. Once that was done I prepared the canner to process the first batch of broth.

I returned the bones to the crockpot and added fresh veggies and water. I let this cook for another day. The bones still had a lot of flavor to release.

You can see the difference in the color of the broth. The most intense flavor will be great for any meat dish and excellent for gravy. The second round will be a perfect base for any type of soup.

I once again used the bones to do a third round of broth. This time I did not add any vegetables. I will use this to flavor our dog Mika's food once in a while, she can sometimes be a finicky eater.

I am so excited to have all this beef broth on the pantry shelf. It was a 3-day process, but oh so worth the effort. I have been so busy canning and preserving this year's harvest that I have not had much time to keep up with my posts. You can see that I made this at the end of August and am just now sharing it with you all.

I hope it encourages you to make your own broth to add to your pantry.

Until next time, this is Sunscape

Nice job! Looks like you got great use of the bones! Great idea to make some to put in the dog's food. I usually use the butter water that comes off of the cream when I make butter. If I try to save it, it backs up in the fridge, so the dogs get it!

That is a great idea too, never would have thought of butter water. ;-) ♥

Gosh! So many jars!! You are really rolling along with the flow! You enjoy bring in the kitchen so much.

I do love working in the kitchen and keeping my pantry shelves full for the year and longer.
How is the water level around you? I hope it is receding enough to save your banana trees.

Yup! The water has receded but the low areas are still partially flooded. We have to wait for one more week to assess all the damages. Hope a few trees would be damaged.

Very cool! Did he manage to find organic grass finished? Mika even has her version!

I'm afraid not, but we will be keeping an eye out for the next time I need bones.
