Nothing smells better than freshly baked goods to fill your home with warmth and comfort, right? Homemade simple food for the weekend to enjoy with the family ensures our hearts are satisfied.
With simple ingredients, I made a banana cake for this weekend. Let me share the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar (you can adjust according to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cups all-purpose flour
- Optional: chocolate chips and dry fruits.
I have added only a banana because that's how we like it. But you can add more according to your taste and adjust the ingredients accordingly.
Step-by-step process:
In a large mixing bowl with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter. Add the dry ingredients in smaller portions, mix them, and again add a small amount.
It's very simple, just make sure there's no lump in the flour.
I have added some cut-up chocolate and some raisins for extra texture and taste. You can add chocolate chips and dry fruits also if you want.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). I have greased a loaf pan or you can use parchment paper.
Bake for 60–65 minutes. If you are using a gas oven then it will probably take 30 minutes. Or bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes. After 10-15 minutes it will be ready to slice. Make slices according to your choice, thick or thin and it will be ready to serve.
It's perfect for the morning tea time or afternoon snack for your kids. The ingredients of the is very simple and it is not a stressful recipe at all. So any beginners can do this, I believe.
