Welp, here I am with my entry! ;)

Well, as we all know, it takes plastic about 400-1,000 years to fully decompose… wait, you didn’t know that!?

Anyway, if you don’t want to contribute to all that plastic lying around earth you can use these ways to help use less plastic (mainly plastic bags) and help keep this world clean!

What to do with all those plastic bags…

After you’ve loaded what you’ve bought in your cart at the store, you go up to the check-out isles, and what do the cashiers pack your groceries in…? That’s right, hundreds of plastic bags!

But when you get home, don’t throw these bags away! You could easily store them somewhere and reuse them for petty tasks around the house.

Let’s say you're cutting up onions. You’re peeling them, but you don’t wanna just throw onion skins in the garbage because they’ll stink up the trash can. Try tying them up in a plastic bag and then throwing them away! No stink, and use of the bag! You could even double wrap ‘em, or use the plastic bags to hold other fruit and veggie trash like cherry pits or plantain peels!

Need to pick up dog poop? That old wrinkle-y store bag doesn’t have anything better to do!

If you wanna go full on anti-plastic bags…

Have an old tote lying around the house? Use that to store food in when you go to the store instead of getting multiple plastic bags. Or you can always buy some!

Wanna use less plastic bottles?

Probably the oldest problem in the recycling book! Just buy a reusable water bottle! Already bought that plastic bottled water by necessity? Keep it to use as a reusable water bottle. Just fill it up with a funnel or, if you’re pretty steady, pour it from your water filter or jugs.

And that’s all you gotta do! If you really want to help the earth by making less waste, lowering plastic use is one way to start.
