Winter Squash, Harvests, Kitchen Lights, PL/PDC/NFL/NHL, Studio Lights - Sunday

Amongst the freeze damaged squash plants yesterday I found some winter squash that were ready. 3 nice large acorn squash that weighed about 5 pounds each.

The butternut weighed 17 pounds in all with a wide variety in size. This is only about half of the 2 types so will watch the rest for the right time to pick.

Despite the cold damage the summer squash still are producing a little bit.

Got my clothes washed first thing in the morning and was rather happy we still have a bunch of the Spray n Wash which I needed for my quite dirty kilt. It worked wonders and got all the stains out.

I had the City v Arsenal match on, someone will eventually mess Halaand up enough to put him out for weeks.

The greenhouse put out a few cucumbers and tomatoes but a nice lot of bell peppers.

We got a bunch of LED shop lights on sale at Costco and I pulled a set out and swapped out the lights in the kitchen. The new ones have double the light and are also able to individually be turned on and off.

PDC finals day and Rocky Dennis won over van Veen.

I added another light to the kitchen area but farther towards the dart board. It is normally going to be off until we need the light.

Seahawks played and destroyed the Dolphins. There is a minor amount of hope they could do something this year but that's all, just a little bit.

The craft studio needed the lights swapped for the shop lights. I had 4 screw in bulb bases mounted on the ceiling so removed all 4, capped one set of lines, tied both lights into the 2 middle light wires, and then removed the end wires.

It is a dramatic difference in the amount of light, even in the daytime with the drapes open.

Preseason NHL has started and what a shit show for the Kraken. New coach, new players, and a very ominous way to start out... This could be a really ugly year for them.

I gave up on the atrocity of a game and went out to soak.

Today I get the boys to school, harvest what is ready, work on wood cover, cut down all the amaranth and spread the seeds ALL around the farm, same with the tobacco seeds, and need to start the tear down of the garden shed roof so I can rebuild it before winter.

Those bell peppers are so colorful so could be in the Gay Pride parade.. 🏳️‍🌈

Gay peppers, at least they're not spicy, just colorful. Lol

@solominer has the spicy ones.

The spiciest I have is Anaheim, and they get a bit limp wristed as they get ripe

I love Anaheim for grilling

Oh, you like it spicy huh?

Planning to see any Spokane Chiefs games this year? It looks like they won their opening game.

I'm planning on taking the boys to a couple over the season. We haven't been in a couple years so need to take them, specially since they are older and can appreciate the game better.

My peppers are ready for harvest (and to be dipped in hummus) and there is a volunteer acorn squash ready to be picked, I think it was the prior owners. And I discovered 2 watermelons, hopefully they make it through the colder weather. You always score with all the zucchinis! Have you tried making mock pineapple with them? I recommend it!

Mock Pineapple zucchini...??? What in the world is that?

Congrats on the garden surprises! I have about 60 Anaheim on the 2 plants but most are green and probably 2 dozen good bell between the 4 plants. My Nardello are slowly giving me some that will eventually be ripe. Even in the greenhouse it is a fight.

Omg you always have such great harvests! Mock pineapple sounds strange but I've made it and hey no one asked questions lol It's surprisingly great. https://www.food.com/recipe/mock-pineapple-96738
