Transplants, Table, Lube, Radishes - Sunday

in #hive-114308last year

Yesterday morning I got out in the garden early before the heat hit. The irrigation line I had setup on the area for the tomato volunteers had run in the morning and I noticed the telltale sign of water pressure having hit the ground. I had a few holes in the line that needed plugging which I did first thing.

Then I went around the farm and gathered up the tomato plants that had sprouted all over. I piled them all in the tray and took them to their new home.

I had to split a few of the bunches and I was a little concerned that I would hurt the plants in the process but nicely they all seemed to handle the move okay as I kept an eye on them throughout the day.

@stryeyz got home from her retreat mid morning and she had a great time and got in lots of walks with our friend. She has a lot to digest from the various speakers.

I finally got to the table. The springs came out of the legs and I could see why I was having such a hard time, compressing these old things in the legs was going to be pretty much impossible.

It took removing a couple braces to get the legs to slide back together but I eventually got it all setup right. The thing can still fold and I don't have a really good way of locking it open as of now. I added some wire to a couple spots in hopes of limiting the potential for accidental folding.

I grabbed the dolly and then wheeled the table down to the creek side beneath the big birch tree.

For the tomato row I got a couple of t-posts and pounded them into the ground then I stretched the fence out and fixed it so the tomatoes have something to climb on.

The Tardis door handle has been a pain to get closed easily and I reasoned that it had to be the rust on the metal of the latch that was the problem. I grabbed my bottle of Marvel's Oil and applied it liberally. The latch is nice and smooth now and easy to open and close.

The radishes have had more than enough time to grow and these French breakfast radishes got a bit on the long side. They are super tasty and quite large.

I got my stuff ready for today and flying before going out to soak.

Today is the only day with okay winds at Saltese so I am going flying and hope to get another couple of flights in. The rest of the week the winds are more out of the east which is not conducive to Saltese launches. Tonight is the club meeting and we will be going over the fly in at Inkler's this weekend.

radishes looking so cute :P In our language we called them as ( shalgam ), we even cook them with peas. they are really tasty for sure.

Great thing with radishes is they are about the fastest thing to grow in the garden so can get many harvests through the year.

Good progress. Makes up for you laying around all winter 😆

Great efford. Happily, I also had grows tomatoes inside my garden and the results were very good. Great progress. We pray that you also get good results.
