Swap, Gear Prep, Lights Installs, Bees, Cleanup, Needles, Ties, Hawks, 180 - Monday

It froze and was still freezing at dawn yesterday. The greenhouse managed okay and mid morning I went out to the Tardis and hauled in my bin of winter clothes to do the seasonal shift. Super stoked to find I DID get a second pair of the fleece lined Mtn Hardwear pants so I will be nice and toasty this year.

I went through my climbing gear and put most of it on the rack as I will not need much for the weekend. I DID get my saw and various accoutrements staged. I will need all my straps as I plan an loading the trailer with rounds and have to keep them solid for the 2 hour drive back to the farm.

After I had sorted my climbing gear I grabbed the LED bar light and got it mounted on the rafter. It is WAY brighter than what I had in and will be much nicer for the winter.

@stryeyz asked if I could mount the other one over the Blackstone so in order to wire it in I popped open the light base. It was totally filled with mud dobber nests. Old ones, but still. I had to break them all out to get access to the wire ports on the base.

I figured it would look good and once it got dark it really showed nicely. She is very happy with the extra light.

I broke open the bee hive and found that they had not moved into the top box at all so I removed it but had to let it sit for a bit to let the bees migrate back into the hive. I got the winter lid on and put the unused back in the garden shed.

I worked on cleanup around the coop and lumber racks. Irrigation lines got hauled up by the garden shed and hoses coiled. SO MANY TRIPS ACROSS THE FARM!!!!

The roof of the house was coated in pine needles so I did a quick sweep to clear them all off. I forgot I needed to rake them away from the house afterwards though so will do that today.

R had the fruit picker and was working at the plum trees in the middle of the farm while I went out to the apple trees by the creek. The one had over a dozen that had no bug spots and I brought back to the house.

I finally moved the railroad ties. I had to drag them across the farm and I used the hay hooks to stab and drag them. They will be used for the border around the slope by the gear shed. I figure I will cut one in half and make a trapezoid shape.

The Seahawks played and started the game okay but then the defense shit the bed. I made dinner while watching the eventual embarrassment.

I GOT MY THIRD 180!!!! It felt SO GOOD when that last dart hit. I am getting a lot better as I keep practicing.

Bumped up the water temp a bit now that it is colder.

This morning it is cold again, I'll get J to school, will harvest a bunch of the greenhouse, keep gathering stuff for the weekend, setup the new printer when it arrives, go to my chiro appointment, keep cleaning up around the farm, and come up with dinner tonight.
