Super early yesterday morning I was out the door and on the road to town for grain. I managed to get going before 5am and it didn't take long for me to get to the brewery.
I had 2 barrels of grain to load up and this time there were no homeless or rough sleepers anywhere nearby. I've never had issues but it is just one of the things I am highly aware of when in the city.
Both barrels loaded I was headed for home before 5:30am. I looked at the clock and wanted to try to be home before 6am. I made a great move as I headed up Market towards the bypass. A rig was just stopping at the right turn for the bypass and I had ZERO desire to sit behind his slow ass so I went straight to the intersection and took the right turn around him and was nicely on the bypass bombing for home as he was just getting through the first round about.
It took me a bit to get out and empty the grain but the sheep and alpaca were super happy for it and the birds all massed onto it as soon as I let them out.
Got the new 9 tooth sprocket on the scooter and it seems like it has a bit more torque. I HAVE to change the tension system I have as the thinner metal is about to break.
While testing the scooter I noticed a tree out along the hill that is dying and will need to come down. I will tension it off one of the concrete bollards and drop it on the old road. This makes 4 full size trees that are coming down for sure.
@stryeyz took a half day so the boys who had no school and I met her at Applebee's for lunch. She took them shopping afterwards while I went to North 40 for supplies.
Dog food and bird seed bags, more felling wedges, ear muffs for the boys, work gloves for the boys, more ammo, and some nice cold weather work gloves for myself.
Once I got home I found I had a pair of partial ISS SSTV images that had decoded while I was in town. I plug my Ham Radio base station into my computer and open RX-SSTV app and let it run so when the ISS comes over or near the farm I can catch some of the signals.
PDC continues and I got to see the last two matches. 2 Belgian players and 2 English players are left today in the semi final.
The bird seed needed to go into a container.... well containerS. The animal cracker tubs work great. I filled both bird feeders and left the partial tub in the living room while the rest went to the stairwell. 50 pounds should likely last all winter.
My northern Red Oak is looking all glamorous and shit. Just look at those colors!!!!
In the afternoon it was time to get the fence swapped out. I unrolled the length and drug it into position to check it was long enough then pulled the old fence out into the yard and rolled it up.
I had to add a section but the fence became more than long enough to reach the outer corner of the gear shed. This opens up a triangular section about 10ft per side that is now added into the yard. The fence is a foot taller now and has a slight outward lean to dissuade the shithole deer.
And of course Jax had to go christen it right away.
I reran the light string and it ended up at the same spot it was before I moved the fence.
I got the fire going in the pit around 4pm while we had music on. @stryeyz watched as I sharpened one of the chains for my saw. I still have all the rest to sharpen but wanted one at least good in case I need the saw sooner.
While the boys and @stryeyz were shopping R wanted a pair of aviators... I laughed pretty good at it but he loves them. I had to tweak the arms but now they stay in lace better.
My back is still so torched that I can't get but a handful of throws before the pain is too much. I was rather happy at the second throw though.
I grilled steaks for dinner and we had our potatoes and bell peppers with.
Soaked for longer but that was due to me abusing my muscles with the Theracane.
Today I have to work in the garden and greenhouse, keep cleaning around the yard, then my next #LORA device gets here so I can get it setup on #Meshtastic, hopefully more ISS images, PDC is on, then the boys have a birthday party in the afternoon I might go to.
