Nice day yesterday that I wasn't really feeling it for a while. It took until mid morning for me to get out and get work done around the farm. The darts open was on for the finals day so I had that on until the afternoon.
The coop door latch burned out the servo motor and was borking the Arduino so I removed it and instead have a nice h3eavy magnet installed. I found a metal bracket and have it screwed to the wall while the magnet is attached to the door. The magnet holds the door quite well and pretty strong.
The motor has more than enough torque to pull the door open each morning. I also swapped out the sensor shield so the light sensor reads correct again.
I got the long slackline setup and wow I haven't walked one in a while. I managed about halfway before I couldn't keep myself on it. Super good for strengthening the core muscles.
It was time. The greenhouse needed to be cleared and prepped for planting which meant I had to harvest everything. I got 1.5 pounds of spinach.
Then 2 pounds of kale.
The lettuce had 2.25 pounds which all went to the fridge.
A total of 6 pounds of greens got harvested.
Martin Schindler won the darts tournament, his home tournament. It was a great win for him over Price.
The last things in the greenhouse were a couple of kale that I transplanted to by the potatoes and the last few radishes.
I pulled the irrigation lines out the window and lifted the plastic so I could till.
It was HOT A BALLS in the greenhouse, even with the ends open and the side rolled up I was sweating buckets by the time I was done. I am missing the grain addition which I likely won't get in this year given the timing now.
It was close to 5pm when I got the fire going in the pit for the evening.
The boys had hauled the sluice and pans down to the big creek to try washing rocks and after a while I went to check on them. The moss on the rocks in the creek was glowing nicely in the later sun.
They had ended up on the other side of the tunnel and I could just see them as they shoveled.
While I waited on the fire to burn down enough I threw for a bit at the board. This first one was a very nice bounce off the flight of the dart in the 25 which put it right in the bull.
This felt super nice, first dart in the right side of the triple, the next in the left side, then I went high on the 3rd.
Then this grouping was awesome and felt super good with each throw. Practice, practice, practice.
Bison sirloin tip steak and beef chuck steak grilled for dinner.
My skin attacked me and I only got a half hour soaking.
Today I have to get oil for my truck and change it, my seeds deliver so I will get the rest of the rows planted, setup the greenhouse, fiddle with the coop door opener a bit more, boys to and from school, seeds back to storage, get the weedeater and string mower up and running, then this evening figure out something for dinner.
