Yesterday morning I harvested the cucumbers first thing as they are in the greenhouse and it was to get hot during the day. I got a nice load of 20 of them with a few being wonky ones.
It then took me about 40 minutes to work my way through all the plants tying them up and trimming the branches off. I read up on proper techniques and found I am doing much of it correct. I probably should be removing the flowers and fruit from the bottom 8 or 9 nodes but that will be for next time as they are in full growth now. Some of the plants are almost to the top purlin.
I had a large binder clip holding the lines on the bar but they kept falling out so I wandered a bit until I found the right piece of 1" black poly and a plug. I ziptied it all to the handle and my precut lines fit in it perfectly and are held tight enough they don't fall out.
Our friend stopped by and dropped of a heap of alcohol pads that her diabetic son gets with his insulin. He never needs as many as he gets so I now have about 1600. Not sure what I will use them all for but I have them.
The raspberry plants have been growing at the greenhouse and it was time to wall them off from it. I took a pair of fence posts and pounded them into the ground on either end of the plants. I then ran wire back and forth across it to hold the plants up in the air and away from the greenhouse.
The bees needed another batch of syrup made so I got it mixed and in the hive again. They are bustling along well and hopefully they are building out a nice honey supply.
It was later in the day before I got my clothes washed but it was all good as they were dry in about an hour hanging in the 100F temps.
The trailer had to get hooked up for this morning as I have to get grain on my way to drop off the co-op orders before going to fly at Saltese.
I had to refill the torches with fluid as the mosquitoes are still bad.
This morning I go to get grain, drop off co-op orders, fly at Saltese, then home and empty grain, harvests, hiding from the heat, and hopefully grilling tonight on the little grill.
