Repair of window blinds and death of Astrochick

in #hive-1143082 years ago

Today I decided to take a break from construction and do minor repairs around the house. Some time ago, the children broke the blinds in their room. First they tore off the lamellas and then completely broke the blinds in half, so they just collapsed down.

At first I thought about throwing out this mountain of junk, but there was no suitable replacement in the store, only large or small sizes, so I decided to restore the old ones.

The repair plan was simple. Glue what can be glued with superglue, and then attach a wooden bar to strengthen the structure at the place of greatest stress.

To fix lamellas I didn't completely disassemble the blinds.

Instead, I cut off whole lamellas in the lower part, which never unfolded completely (the blinds are longer than the window), put them in place of the broken ones and glued them with the same superglue and soda.

It turned out great. I should have done it earlier.

And while I was doing repairs, a disaster occurred - an Astrochick died. That was the name of the chicken from the last batch. This cockerel liked my son and he played with him all the time. He put a chicken on the lid of a saucepan and imagined that it was an alien on a plate.

The chicken didn't seem to mind such games either. Never ran away and was not indignant. But this morning, he didn't come to breakfast, just sat quietly on the sidelines. I visited him in the afternoon, he was alive, and an hour later he just died. The son went out to play with him but chicken was already stiff.

The son of course was very upset. I had to calm him down and explain that life is so arranged and he is not to blame for the death of Astrochick.

A couple of days ago, I made for my son an account on hive so that he could share his crafts. I told him to make a chicken out of plasticine to perpetuate the memory of the Astrochick. I hope this will make my son feel better

Great repair tip on the blinds! Sorry to hear about the loss of your chicken, hopefully it was not something that will affect the rest of your flock!

Yes, I'm also worried that it's not some kind of infection

Dear @astrizak, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
You can do it on Peakd, Ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.
