In parallel with the construction of the porch, I started another mega project that I plan to finish before the fall - the construction of a vegetable storage.
In the far corner of my plot, on the border with the forest, there is a great hill under big oak, which I decided to adapt for storage. I already imagine something like a hobbit hole with a round door.
But before starting construction, it is necessary to dig this hole, which is what I have been doing for the last two days. My soil is heavy, solid clay, and it's hard enough to dig it.
So far, I have mastered a rectangle measuring 1.5 by 3 meters. About one and a half meters deep. It is necessary to go deeper another one and a half meters and it will be even harder. But I think I can handle it.
In between excavations, I continue to engage in the fight against hogweed. After I cut it down, about a month has passed, but it has reached its previous size and is in full bloom.
We have to cut off all the inflorescences, collect them in a barrel and burn them. I really hope that I will have time to collect everything before the seeds ripen.
