A few years ago, I used to have an apartment on Instagram, and then I owned a mini bungalow on WhatsApp, where I spent most of my time viewing reels and statuses, posting memes, and chit-chatting regularly.
Until that fateful morning, when I heard about Hive, everything changed, and then I realized I had been wasting my time, energy, and resources on the other platform, which instead of helping me grow, enriches the pockets of the celebrities on the platform and steers up a lot of negative vibes and unnecessary competition and comparison.
I embraced Hive with all of my heart, arranged my furniture, and made it my new home. Ever since then, I've been enjoying my stay here on Hive.
I would say Hive is my favourite platform because there I interact with people, at home and abroad, and I learn about other people's cultures and different lifestyles.
I've made more meaningful friends here on Hive than on any other social platform—friends who want you to grow, friends who are vast, skilled, funny, and tech-savvy.
Hive has become my new addiction because, ever since I joined Hive, I do not think a day will pass by without engaging in it.
What's life without Hive?
Hive is so special to me because it has a lot to offer aside from the incentive one gets from engaging on Hive, which is rare to find on Web2. Hive has a true community that genuinely cares about you.
On other social platforms, cyberbullying has become the order of the day, but it's rare to find here on the blockchain that people are so thoughtful with their comments; even when they want to criticize, it is often done with care and love.
I've also observed how people genuinely support one another here on the chain. In the first few months of my stay here on Hive, I was wowed at how a certain user got instant help from fellow Hivers here when he had some health issues and couldn't foot his hospital bills. I read the post, and I saw how many people willingly offered to help with an upvote or tip.
Hive is a platform that wants the real you; other social platforms are full of fake lifestyles, and many people wear social masks to keep up with their fake lifestyles.
Nobody judges you on Hive; nobody condemns you on Hive; rather, they encourage you to be the best you can be.
Hive is educational, as you not only get entertained by reading articles but also get informed and stay updated.
There are a thousand and one communities here that help one grow intellectually and even build one's skills.
The needlework and DIY community has been a beautiful community that has helped me build my fashion skills free of charge. As the members of the community share DIY tutorials on their projects, they also share fashion tips and hacks that make the life of a designer seamless.
The Inkwell community has built my writing skills so much with mind-blowing prompts (fiction and non-fiction); this has challenged me to think outside the box and stay creative.
Each community on the chain has been helpful in one way or another, as there are varieties of them that make my stay here on Hive enjoyable. The Afritune/Music community blesses you with so much beautiful music and voices that keep me entertained.
What can you not find on Hive? Is it comedy, gardening, poems, etc.? Haha, there are communities for anything you can think of, which makes this platform a really special one to me.
Most times, I feel like I should have known Hive earlier than now, but the good thing now is that I am here and loving it already, and as long as Hive lives, I am going nowhere.
