Hello, today I was going to sit down to work on my amazing and powerful canaima laptop and after about 15 minutes of use it turned off without warning 😭
I touched it underside and it was extremely hot so I let it cool down turned it back on and realized the fan wasn't working.
I sat down to open it and see if among my spare parts I had a fan that would fit and not. All the laptops I have are much bigger, so I had to improvise!
Many times, and this will be no exception, I do completely stupid things just to save myself time and money. Buying a new fan means spending $10 to $15 and losing at least a week of work, because shipping from the capital to the town where I live usually takes several days.
And they don't sell here? Yes, surely I could get a part here where I live, but honestly I don't want to deal with the terrible customer service and the exorbitant prices that are handled in my town, I have had enough stress for this week.
So in the end I did what I thought was easier and more convenient, connect a fan on the outside, which would remove the hot air from the heatsink inside.
The connection was very easy, because both fans, despite their great differences, share the same colors in the cables. Despite the fact that the original worked at 5 volts and the new one works at 12 volts, the latter develops good speed and does its job very well.
The only disadvantage is that I will have to use the laptop like this for a few days. At least it will be until a new laptop that I ordered as a spare arrives, it will be my donor and I will be able to get all the necessary parts to solve the problem.
I'm leaving, I have to keep working to raise the money and buy a $700 laptop. We read later ☺️
Lately I have been very inactive in hive and it is very possible that you are wondering the reason for that. And even if you don't, I'm going to take the opportunity to tell a little about what's happening to me.
I am currently carrying out the registration procedures to complete my studies and whether you like it or not, I want a lot of time and I come home with my brain too tired to write.
I am also dabbling in different jobs, in order to get more income and eventually improve my equipment and thus be able to deliver more and better content to the Hive network.
I'm always reading the posts of my colleagues and friends, I'm in the shadows 😎
Now yes, I must continue working because I seriously need to repair this fault and I definitely want my PC with 16gb of ram and 800gb of memory hahaha.
