No I'm Not Drinking Yet ..
But, with a crappy weather outdoors .. I might as well be. The photo with the martini was actually taken a couple of days ago when the weather was nice and the sun was shining. Today unfortunately, the sun is not shining. It is raining yet again and I am feeling miserable. We have gotten over 6 inches of the wet stuff over the last week. The only good thing is that we will be busy this weekend visiting with family and friends as the Easter weekend progresses. We have lots of plans and lots of things to do so I doubt I will have time to jump on and post anything. But one never knows.
Update On Our Dying Plants ..
Last time I updated you on the death or potential death of a few of our plants, things were looking grim. A week or so later and things haven't changed too much for a couple of the specimens I was sure were on their way out. My hunch was determined to be correct.
The Cyclamen plant .. That was putting up a couple of new shoots… Well those new shoots died off. They dried up quickly and there's no life left with that plant. I will not be getting another one since obviously my green thumb doesn't extend in that direction.
And do you remember that poor little orchid .. Yep, that died too. I figured it would due to the lack of any viable root system. I came up with a creative way to keep things humid and moist but it was too late. It too will be headed to the compost pile or the trash bin. I guess I'll have to order a few more orchids in order to feel good about what's happening. Oh my poor orchid!
On the flipside ..
My Spider plant .. Seems to be pest free! If you remember it was loaded with scale. I treated it several times with Neem Oil and that seem to do the trick. Neem oil stinks a bit but it's worth the smell to get rid of those buggy little pests. Plant is a bit thinner but nice and green and the little babies hanging down are looking fine too.
Last but not least, our Hibiscus tree is really looking good.. The leaves are all starting to emerge from the buds that were overwintered in the basement. The tree came back to life as I was told it would before I put it into the basement. I was a bit skeptical since it looked like it was dying off but to my surprise it hasn't! I guess we will enjoy this tree again all summer long out on our back patio. Can't wait to see those bright red blooms!
Happy Easter
A happy Easter to all who celebrate the holiday this weekend! I hope the Easter bunny brings you lots of chocolate and to all of my stackers out there I hope he brings you lots of silver and maybe gold. One can't they?
Oh My!
Well would you look at that! I think the Easter bunny did come to my house and leave me a couple of eggs in my orchid plants. I wonder what's inside of them?? I guess you'll just have to wait till next week to find out. Unless I feel motivated to post something sooner than that. Lol
