Aproximadamente hace 4 años, realicé un maquillaje inspirado en UZUMAKI un manga de horror creado por junji ito, en ese tiempo creí que había quedado espectacular, sin embargo, hace poco MAX estrenó Uzumaki en versión animada, igualmente en blanco y negro, y aunque ya leí el manga, vi los primeros dos capítulos y me encanta, eso me hizo recordar este maquillaje que hice hace 4 años y lo volví a buscar para darme cuenta que no era tan “épico” como lo recordaba, obviamente he practicado y mejorado muchísimo con el pasar de los años y no quería perder la oportunidad de recrear nuevamente este maquillaje, aprovechando el estreno de la serie en MAX además de la temporada de Halloween, aquí les presento la versión mejorada de mi maquillaje de Uzumaki.

Approximately 4 years ago, I did a makeup inspired by UZUMAKI a horror manga created by junji ito, at that time I thought it had been spectacular, however, recently MAX released the animated version of Uzumaki, also in black and white, and although I read the manga, I saw the first two chapters and I love it, that made me remember this makeup I did 4 years ago and I looked it up again to realize that it wasn't as “epic” as I remembered it, obviously I have practiced and improved a lot over the years and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to recreate this makeup again, taking advantage of the premiere of the series on MAX as well as the Halloween season, here I present the improved version of my Uzumaki makeup.

Antes de mostrar el procedimiento para este maquillaje quiero enseñarles el primer maquillaje de Uzumaki jajajaja, es horrible, realmente no tenia demasiados materiales y además decidí pintar encima de mi rostro aquella vez, no se porque me pinte un ojo encima del parpado, pero se ve super extraño y al lado derecho pueden ver la edición que le hice en ese momento que fue exagerada para intentar ocultar los errores, ni siquiera puedo ver los poros de mi piel JAJAJA, pero bueno, estas son las cosas que me animan porque asi puedo ver mi progreso.
Before I show you the procedure for this makeup I want to show you the my first makeup of Uzumaki hahahaha, it's horrible, I really didn't have too many materials and also I decided to paint over my face that time, I don't know why I painted one eye over the eyelid, but it looks super weird and on the right side you can see the editing I did at that time which was exaggerated to try to hide the mistakes, I can't even see the pores of my skin HAHAHA, but well, these are the things that cheer me up because this way I can see my progress.

Proceso/Process
Esta vez, en vez de pintar el espiral sobre mi piel directamente decidí dibujarlo en una hoja blanca, sin ningún boceto, solo empecé a dibujar una especie de circulo sin ser completamente circular, utilice un bolígrafo que me ayudaría a darle detalles mínimos de líneas que siempre podemos ver en las ilustraciones de Junji Ito, comencé a pintar las líneas del espiral haciéndolas bastante descuidadas ya que aquí no buscábamos la perfección, luego comencé a darle volumen agregando sombras usando un color negro, tambien hice algunas líneas mas gruesas con un marcador negro, después de tener listo el espiral, comencé a dibujar el ojo en otra parte de la hoja, para este si realice un boceto primero con lápiz.
This time, instead of painting the spiral on my skin directly I decided to draw it on a white sheet, without any sketch, I just started to draw a kind of circle without being completely circular, I used a pen that would help me to give it minimal details of lines that we can always see in Junji Ito's illustrations, I began to paint the lines of the spiral making them quite sloppy since here we were not looking for perfection, then I began to give it volume adding shadows using a black color pencil, I also made some thicker lines with a black marker, after having the spiral ready, I began to draw the eye in another part of the sheet, for this one I made a sketch first with a pencil.
Empecé a darle detalles al ojo con el bolígrafo, marcador y el color negro, recorte ambas piezas y las uní con pegamento en barra, aparte el dibujo y comencé a pintar mi cuello con pintura corporal blanca, selle con polvo traslucido y luego aplique pintura negra dando asi una sombra con diferentes líneas finas.
Mientras tanto, en el rostro aplique pegamento en barra en la ceja derecha, aproximadamente 5 capas, deje secar y selle con polvo, luego comencé a pintar todo el rostro con la pintura blanca.
I started to give details to the eye with the pen, marker and black color, I cut out both pieces and joined them with glue stick, I put the drawing aside and started to paint my neck with white body paint, sealed with translucent powder and then applied black paint giving a shadow with different fine lines.
Meanwhile, on the face I applied glue stick on the right eyebrow, approximately 5 layers, let it dry and sealed with powder, then I started to paint the whole face with the white paint.
Con pintura negra empecé a dibujar la ceja, la forma del ojo y contorno en la nariz, fueron detalles algo sencillos pero tenían que ser pinceladas precisas, luego pinte mis labios de negro dándole una forma diferente a mis labios reales, finalmente use pegamento de pestañas para pegar la pieza del ojo izquierdo, realmente creí que no funcionaría pegarlo con pegamento de pestañas pero sorpresivamente salió bien jajaja.
With black paint I started to draw the eyebrow, the shape of the eye and the nose contour, they were simple details but they had to be precise brush strokes, then I painted my lips in black giving them a different shape than my real lips, finally I used eyelash glue to glue the left eye piece, I really thought it wouldn't work with eyelash glue but surprisingly it came out well hahaha.

Y obviamente tome las fotos con la cámara en blanco y negro ya que estaría más cercano al manga de esta manera, estoy muy pero muy feliz con el resultado, cuando comencé este maquillaje tenia mucho miedo de que quedara mal, pero siento que se mejoro bastante desde la ultima vez.
And obviously I took the photos with the camera in black and white as it would be closer to the manga this way, I am very very happy with the result, when I started this makeup I was very afraid that it would look bad, but I feel that it has improved a lot since the last time.
