This recipe is much older than me and even can be elder than my parents (because when it created is unknown)! But as usual such old recipes can seem a little bit weird but very unique and interesting.
It was created long ago during or after the WWII, and of course those hard times made people invent something very cheap but tasty to feed their families and to make kids be happy. Now we have lotsa of sweets and variety of desserts, but at that time people had different ways to get tasty dishes.
Such complicated background makes this recipe even more interesting and dear for me.
It's a tasty dishe of our grandmothers - isn't it great to taste it now?
We need just 2 ingredients and 5 min:
- juice (or any compote) - 500 ml
- semolina - 3 tb.sp.
Semolina was one of the most popular dishes for kids during USSR times, and though many kids didn't like it but it was considered to be healthy. So in this dessert it was used as well.
We need to put semolina into juice and boiled them for 1 min.
It will become thick and dense, it won't be like liquid any more.
Then one more step - we beat it all up during one more minute.
It will get great consistency of mousse very fast!
In the end you can add some vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, cinammon or anything you like to make taste better. But I didn't add anything - juice already gave good taste to this dessert.
We ate it as topping for our cookies and pancakes.
A great old cheap and easy dessert for any times!
