1, 2, 3 Say Chesse - DIY Birthday Photoshoot

in #diy2 years ago
We see photo-shoots left and right this days. From prenups, weddings, birthdays, and almost all type of celebrations. I mean, who would not want to strike a pose especially on a day you would like to remember? We are always camera ready no matter the occasion.

However, this kind of photo-shoots can cost quite an amount of money and a professional photographer is something I could not afford at the moment so that's why I came up with a Fun DIY Photo shoot with my Mom on her 51st Birthday.

All we needed was a ₱100.00 worth of gasoline for my motorbike and we bought some rose gold colored number balloons worth ₱50.00 and off we go!

It was a two man show - Just me and my Mom. First off we picked a secluded beach where we can strike picture perfect poses to our hearts content. We drive all the way to Calicoan Island and took a detour at Monay Beach in Brgy. Ngolos. It was around 2 in the afternoon when we head out to the beach and just as we anticipated there were no site of other beach goers in the place. We had it all to ourselves.

No entrance fees, No cottages, just an all access pass to nature's finest.

And off we took the shots.

All the photos were taken using my Realmi 6i with a rear camera of 48 MP. For the photo edits, I go with Adobe Lightroom and I also used free templates in Canva to make the pictures stand out.

My ₱150.00 took us to a 30 minute ride to a secluded beach with pristine white sand, tanned skin and a whole bunch of fun and memorable pictures. I must say that the DIY Photoshoot was a success, not only we were able to take great pictures, my Mom and I was also able to bond and make new memories together - for me that's what really counts. Sometimes we are just too busy with our adult life that we forget, they are growing older too. ❤️

Here's the rest of the pictures, hope you enjoy and was able to get ideas if you want to try a DIY photo shoot some time.

Tips for DIY Photoshoot

1. Choose your Location and a Theme.
Since we live near the ocean, and my Mom and I are like living mermaid, we opted for a beach theme set up.

2. Proper Lighting.
Lighting is important especially if you are doing a DIY, one tip is to maximize the golden hour especially if you are doing an outdoor shoot.

3. Use props and change outfits.

4. Use a Camera or a Phone with high resolution

5. Be Creative and Resourceful
If you're low on budget, you can always improvise. Let your imagination wander and bring out the amazing ideas from the box.

6. Look for inspo photos
This one is a real time saver, better prepare inspo ahead of time. You can check pinterest for ideas on what you want the photoshoot to turn into.

8. Have Fun.
