It's been a very long time since my last post about the playhouse but at last with a tiny bit of good weather I managed to plow on and do some more on it.
Here is the door made completely from scratch. It doesn't look like much but I have never fitted a door much less made one!
This was made using the leftover long pallet boards I had left over from the exterior along with a few meters of Perspex that was left aswell.
Well into 7 hours to make, fit, take down, plane and then rehang(this was done soooo many times I lost count) and basically this is what I had at the end. It is pretty damn cool in my eyes and a small accomplishment that I am very proud of.
Onto the interior we go!
I have started to hang the plywood boards on the walls now which has brought it's own issues which I didn't think about. I never measured or squared anything up when doing the frame so now I am having to make some very odd shaped boards which takes so much work it is unreal.
For insulation I have used expanding foam and laminate flooring underlay on the walls, ceiling and floor. This has made a massive difference to the heat staying inside better. The underlay was also free which was a win win for me.
I have gone for the rustic cottage feel with the window seal ledges inside. A bit of planing was done to remove the top rough surface but I have tried to keep it as wood looking as possible.
They actually came out pretty amazing.
Again because I never squared anything up the ceiling is an absolute mess and such shoddy workmanship but it's the best I can do with my limited skills.
Also once painted with a pretty light fitting the kids will never know haha
Again more rustic looking ledges with some love character in them. I really love the look and feel it gives to the playhouse.
Sadly the weather since has been dreadful with stormy winds and rain.
The house has withstood it all and remained watertight which was a massive surprise.
Hoping for some nice weather so I can finish it this year!
