Welcome back to the playhouse build.
In the UK we have been blessed with some rare lovely sunny weather so out came the tools and I went to work on doing more for the playhouse.
I started by making the upright for the front of the house. This will be where the front wall and door will be.
Then I went onto the roof. I will say it has been an absolute nightmare as each board is 55cm too short for the existing beams to allow me to do it in one go.
A central beam was added across the top to allow me to screw down the roof sheets which are 12mm thick plywood boards. This also allowed me to spread out the weight across the roof.
I used 5x50mm screws as this allowed me to get a very good hold onto the beams underneath the roofing boards. With the size of these screws nothing is gonna bring them out!
5 boards in all were used, 2 on each side and one down the centre to cover over the gap that the boards left me with.
Horizontal beams were added front back and middle to allow for more reinforcement.
I will be using plywood for the floors aswell. Again the boards are too short so I have added 2 cross beams to the back and front of the floor joists which will allow me to secure the flooring better.
I will be going through which tools I used as I have been asked a couple of times what I have been using.
I will be using roof felt to seal the roof along with 8000 tubes of silicone sealant.
Hoping for some good weather soon so I can keep going as I am so close to being finished!
Thanks for coming back and keeping up with my progress.
See you all soon.
