Painting old wooden furniture to give it new life
Published by: @ablaze
*"How to do it:" "I was in the shed a couple of weeks ago and was tidying a few bits up and I happened upon a tin of Sadolin. This is expensive stuff and is used on boats to keep the waterproof, so for wooden fences or furniture, I'd always recommend spending the extra few bobs and buying Sadolin. If you're going to paint something to preserve it, you may as well use the best paint."
Estimated Cost: 2.5L Sadolin Beautiflex Solvent Opaque Woodstain White Wood ($35.7), Hamilton Prestige Synthetic Paint Brush Set 5 piece Anza both costs ($15.7).
Total =$51.4

Birdhouse Complete
Published by: @cmplxty
"How to do it: I had the birdhouse sitting on a shelf with some other things and we've been cleaning house in a major way so that we can more easily move a long distance and not have to pack this stuff. So instead of throwing the birdhouse out, I decided it's best to finish it and hang it up!..."
That certainly starts with making sure the birdhouse was finished and accessible for the little critters. It was missing a hole for them to get into the house! I was looking for a way to fix that without having a hole saw kit. I decided to use a water bottle, the best round shape I could find. With the employment of the little man as well, certainly!

Building a custom photo frame
Published by: @bozz
How to do it: "Honestly, the hardest part was making sure I cut all of the boards the proper length. I didn't want to end up with one frame being obviously larger or smaller than the other one. It probably would have been better if I had bought some more premium quality lumber, but that could have easily bumped the price up to $100."**
