So this is not the promised post that I was hoping to deliver folks.
I was planning on making a fidget toy. Unfortunately, my clay are not hardening the way I wanted them to be. I am talking about polymer clay folks. I am just too exhausted and disappointed. I also thought of my early shift tomorrow so, I just decided to push through my other crafts and put that thing on hold for now.
I know that most of you have heard of steampunk revolution. I had not really gotten over the steampunk sculptures I used to see as a child. Now that I am playing with gears and cogs, I decided to make my very own version.
The first take is a very conservative bear. I got a tear shaped clay, attached some gears and cogs.

Front view. The most challenging part of making these pieces is that, I have to wait for the individual pieces to dry up so I can get that stiff effect.
That is kinda hard for something like clay to achieve.
Yeah so I am being redundant here but this is one of my favourite parts- when I was able to insert the cog in the gear like they belong to each other.
And here is the final look.
I felt more confident with the second sculpture so I made it almost entirely of cogs, screws and levers. Yes. I used my old trusty glue- transparent- you can buy it in any craft store, supermarket, stationary supply stores and, its completely child safe to put these things together.
Honestly, I love this second one.
Final looks! I am falling in love with them. They are so cute! Who knew I would be making steampunk figurines instead of fidget toys?
PS
Thank you all for your support no matter how busy I am sometimes. You inspire me to be creative. You inspire me to be me. You make me think outside of the box.
Thank you very much!
