“The best protection any woman can have… is courage.”
[Elizabeth Cady Stanton]
Having a strong character in your surroundings makes you strong too and in my life I had a strong woman who raised me as her kid, my grandma.
After the death of my grandfather, my family experienced a time too when there was no man left in our home... My father lives in Saudia Arabia because he had a job there and my father's younger brother moved to Germany. My grandmother acted very brave and perfectly handled a family of 10+ ladies.
I was 7 or 8 when my grandfather passed and after his death, I started spending more time with my grandma. I have seen how strong she is, she usually stays awake at night just to protect us, she walks for so long in markets to buy us things, and she stopped visiting her siblings because she was not in a condition to leave us alone. She was the strongest woman I have ever seen in my life.
[Sketch Of My Grandma]
It is human nature that we want love, and the love I wanted in my life I received it all from my grandma.
I remember when I got my ankle injured she held me on her back and took me to show the new cow we bought, and when my mom scolded me for the things I did wrong she protected me and gave me my favourite snacks to refresh my mood too.
My grandma is now 75 years old and still, we have the same bond we had years ago, the love for me in her heart is undeniable and I love her too.
I made her sketch a long ago and when she saw her sketch she wouldn't believe that I could draw that well too. Even she gave me 100 Pakistani rupees as a reward and whenever someone visits her she just calls me up and says where's the sketch you made, as I bring my sketchbook to her she proudly shows the sketch to everyone.
My time invested in this sketch was just nothing but the happiness I have experienced after making this sketch is just more than anything I ever had.
